HEEEEEEERE THEY ARE! 😀

Megan is one of the zaniest/most fun brides we’ve ever had… as you’re about to see 😀 It only makes sense that she has friends to match 🙂

Megan forgot to shave… her mom did the honors. 😀 I wish I could tell you what we were laughing at! 😉

Making sure the ink was dry on Matt’s card before she closed it. 🙂

Love these colors!

Matt’s mom helped him with his tux. You guys know how I feel about guys who love their moms, right?  If you don’t know (I’ve mentioned it here a zillion times)… in a nut shell… generally speaking, men who treat their mothers with respect and love will always be the best husbands. 🙂  It’s true for SO many of my favorite grooms… to include my own 😀

One of my favorite photos Mike has ever taken.  On the left, Matt’s dad. On the right, Megan’s. 🙂

This one’s for their CD cover. duh.

First sight. OHHHH how I adore Matt’s body language here. He was so anxious and excited.  Look at his hands. 😀

Megan, you’re the definition of cute!

SUCH a fun wedding party! 😀 Though all of the photos were planned to be done before the ceremony, things ran a bit behind… so we weren’t able to get nearly the amount that they wanted. HOWEVER, because Megan is a rock star bride, she planned for “just in case”. As a result, we had plenty of built in buffer time after their ceremony for more photos. Thanks Megan, for being a good planner 😀

Megan bought all of her hot tamale bridesmaids red Tom’s.  Before the reception started, the girls changed into them. 🙂

Who needs a pretty picture-esque rose garden when you have amazing textures like these?!

Oh, hello Indianapolis! My favorite ❗

MMMM! MORE TEXTURE!!!!

Marriage is the coolest.

Mike’s favorite ❓

“American Pie” Phi Mu style.

I ADORE YOU MEGAN!!!!!!

What was the most memorable moment of your day?
megan: Seeing Matt for the first time. When we turned around we immediately held each other for a few minutes.  It was the only part of the day where I felt that time actually stood still.  I will remember it forever.
matt: We saw each other before the ceremony, but I will always remember how beautiful Megan looked when she was walking down the aisle.

What was your favorite detail?
megan: Just one?  That’s really hard.  I loved my colors and the way they looked in our venue.  I also loved our unique wedding cake, the Toms shoes my bridesmaids wore with their dresses, and the pumpkins we used for the table assignment cards 🙂
matt: The Bengals’ cuff links Megan got me for a wedding present to wear that day.

Any advice for future bride/grooms?
megan: Get married at the Mavris and hire Bobbi+Mike to photograph your wedding.  This combination will make your day totally stress free 🙂
matt: Sit back and enjoy the ride because your wedding day will fly by…

Funniest memory from your wedding day?
megan: The reaction everyone had when I dropped to the floor in my huge wedding dress to play the air guitar.  What can I say, it’s a Phi Mu tradition 🙂
matt: My best men’s speech got me good and everyone was laughing…Megan knows my favorite movie is Grumpy Old Men and she still married me, so there you go.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
megan: Not a thing… Well except maybe extend the reception at least a couple hours.  The day went by way too quickly!
matt: The day turned out just how we wanted, so I wouldn’t change anything.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Ochos Rios, Jamaica. It was amazing and we can’t wait to go back!

BOBBI’S BRIDES, past, present & future; the Hanover Phi Mu edition 🙂 Megan – June, 2008  |  Megan – October, 2010  |  Lori – July, 2011

Megan and Matt… We had a blast photographing your wedding 😀 Thank you for EVERYTHING!

Much love friends…

I’m kind of a professional veil wearer. When brides are done with them in the midst of photo time… and there’s nothing we can do it with it… I just throw it on my own head. Luckily for me, I have a fantastic husband always at the ready for photo-esque moments such as these. 😉

❗ + ❓

We have a few clients who are kind of blog celebrities.  One of those couples… Melanie and Adam 😀 When people see that we’re going to photograph them… they can’t wait to see the craziness that’s going to happen. You see, for every session they’re always outdoing themselves  with big/crazy ideas and we’re always pushing ourselves creatively because we know they dig it. It’s a lot of pressure… both for us and for them. You know, kinda like our yearly Christmas card… people always say, “How are you going to top THIS one?!”  I’m telling you,  it’s exhausting always competing with yourself! I’m sure many of my creative friends out there can sympathize… 🙂

Well, Melanie and Adam are now parents of a perfect baby girl. Her name is Nori 🙂 Well, she’s almost 1 now… and they haven’t had family photo pics taken yet. Enter bobbi+mike to the rescue!

As we were brainstorming about the session… she said something along the lines of, “I want it to be natural. We spend a lot of time in bed playing with Nori before we get up in the morning. Those are my favorite times. The session would be black and white, grainy, overexposed, I’d wear little makeup, hair not styled, tank top. You know, just natural.” Or something to that effect. I LOVED where she was going with it. You all know we love shooting what’s genuine.  I mean, we’ve shot sessions like this in the past… but not to the degree that Melanie was suggesting… and let me tell you… I was excited 🙂

In our OH SO humble opinion, the first half of this session is exactly what family sessions should be. Real. Not perfect and staged. Exactly what your life was like in that moment. High fives to Melanie and Adam for being okay with wearing pajamas for a session. And to Melanie… no makeup, bed head and a tank top…. That takes some serious confidence!

See how they have the exact same expression here. Nori looks SO much like Melanie!

Every kid should have photos like these with their parents. Can you imagine Nori seeing this in 30 years and how much she’ll treasure it? I’m jealous… wish I had this with mine. Mike’s favorite ❓

Ohhh Nori… you’re just perfect 🙂

Nori is 90% Melanie when it comes to looks. However, see that big smile? I think that’s the 10% that came from her daddy. You know, our friend Andrea was telling me recently that babies mimic the faces that you make… As you’ll see soon, both Melanie and Adam do this BIG open mouth smile when they play with her… and that’s EXACTLY what Nori does! My favorite ❓

feeding… 🙂

Man oh man… you two made a perfect little girl.

Then… we headed outside for 30 minutes before the sun went down… for something a little more traditional. Well, traditional bbmk style.

THERE’S THE FACE! Both of them are making it 🙂 See?

We’re in love with every single one of these images… really proud of them.

But of course they’d dress her in striped colorful socks… Why WOULDN’T they?! 😉

PS. For those who need a refresher on Melanie and Adam… Click back to their maternity session here. At the end of that entry, I posted a few photos of them from each session we’ve done together.

IN IT TO WIN IT! 😉

I think this is a photo of me dancing… you know… to make Nori laugh. 🙂

❗ + ❓

This time of year is the hardest for photographers…

Why?

Well, between Christmas deadline ordering madness, designing approximately 120,458 albums, shooting ten weddings in a row, going to a 3 day photography workshop in Philadelphia, end of season catch up, fall colors that everyone wants to be photographed in, traveling to Northwest Illinois, Washington D.C., Chicago and Louisville, celebrating our seven year wedding anniversary, Mike’s dads 60th birthday party, losing my wedding ring 🙁 , finding my wedding ring :D, and trying to work out daily… I’m POOOOOPED!

Bottom line… though I haven’t had time to blog much lately, rest assured… it’s not for lack of things to blog!

Here’s what I have coming up… in no particular order:

melanie+adam+nori | family
megan+matt | wedding
rachael+patrick | engagement
jake+meredith | wedding
emily+matt | engagement
kate+chris | wedding

Just thought I’d give a little update as I’ve gotten three “are you alive” emails due to the lack of updates. I tell you… you guys are spoiled with how much I usually blog! 😀 Know what my mom would call you? INGRATES! 😉

I’m only kidding… well… about the ingrates part!

So amazing blog readers, don’t leave me! I promise you, the downtime is only temporary.

Much love friends.

~bobbi ❗

And because I don’t like to blog without a photo… here’s one of yours truly from a recent session 🙂 You know, jusssssst in case Vidal Sassoon is in need of a camera carrying model… just putting this out there for their consideration. 🙂
