This photo was taken in August 1999… my freshman year of college at Indiana State University. I was a Sparkette… AKA the color guard/dance team. I mentioned that I was a part of the team a long time ago on this blog and my friend THE PHENOMENAL KATE MARTIN about had an attack… "I WANNA SEE A PHOTO OF THAT!" So, this is just for you Miss Kate π
I would also like to take this opportunity to say… HOLY COWABUNGA TO HOW THIN I AM IN THAT PHOTO?!?!!?? JEEEEEZE LOUISE!!! I wanna be thin like THAT again! My smile looks HUGE when my cheeks aren't so chubby. π I so so so so so so want to look like that.
Okay, I'm going to bust out how much weight I've gained since then… and I canNOT believe I'm posting about it publicly… this is REALLY hard.. REALLY REEEEEEALLY hard. π Okay, so before I dieted last year I had gained a total of 58 pounds since then. I lost 13 of that back then so now I'm still up 45 pounds. FORTY-FIVE POUNDS!
I kinda slowed down the weight loss… aka, quit dietting π I've done fairly well at maintaining that but NOW IS THE TIME TO GET BACK ON THE HEALTHY TRAAAAIN!!!!!!! Anyone out there want to diet with me? Please? PLEEEEEASE!?

Once I lose more than 13 lbs… I'll do a new photo like the one you see above π Hey… it's the small stuff that gets me excited/movitated π I always LOVED coming up with what I was going to take a photo of every Friday to show my weight loss. For those of you who have NO idea what I'm talking about… every Friday I would take a photo of something that weighed the same amount as the pounds I'd lost. So, at my best I'd lost 3 5Ds, a 70-200, a 16-35 and a 24mm prime.
This year… I'm going to do it exactly like we did it last year… anyone who wants to join me just let me know in the blog comments that you're in. π Then every week we'll do a total weight loss of all of us combined. I'll be keeping track of it all here in a spreadsheet… yes yes yes, I'm a nerd with spreadsheets. π The more the merrier… I'd LOVE to have you all on my team.
Here are my goals (losing about 1.5 lbs a week)…
by Thanksgiving: -10
by Christmas: – 16
WPPI in Vegas (mid Feb): -24
my birthday, June 14: -45
I know I'll never be a skinny girl… I never have been… and never will be… but being "not chubby" will be exactly where I want to be. Know what I mean?
I'm SOOOO excited and INCREDIBLY motivated to get this done. I'm also quite nervous. Doing this publicly is quite humbling and embarrassing. I don't want to fail in front of all of you. I'm just a girl with insecurities, and I know I'm not alone. I don't want to live the rest of my life paranoid about the size of my butt.
Who's with me?! DO IT!!!!!! I'll be reporting my first weight loss this Friday… AHHH I'M SOOO NERVOUS!

I’m with you! For real this time! I started eating healthier at the end of June and am down 40 lbs. So… I know I am finally in the right mood to stick with it! For some reason, I just couldn’t before. I couldn’t even bring myself to step on a scale. And you know what, only now am I down to my wedding weight!

Bobbi, first, I’d like to say I think you’re totally cute, even if you feel you’re a little heavier than you want to be. Second.. Have you tried weight watchers point counting? It works. I lost 40 lbs on it, and thou I’ve put on 5-7 that seem to want to stay.. it DOES work, that was around 3+ years ago now. I need to burn off these couple of lbs I put on myself but it’s sooo hard to stay motivated when you’re just so busy!
I know we totally sucked at this last time, but this time. THIS TIME. we’re going to be strong. It helps that we’ve stopped eating out to save money for a 5Dmii for each of us so maybe we can actually do it this time??? So we’re totally in, and like I said. THIS time we’re going to do it. WiiFit and all!!!! π

I’m totally in. I think it is hilarious to take pictures of the weight you’ve lost. It sounds like great motivation. I’m with you on the extra weight. egads, it sucks, right? so, I’m IN IN IN IN IN! my goal is 50 lbs off by may 1st (realistically, probably 30 lbs i’ll lose, but i’m shooing high!!)
Oh I’m in!! I’ve been trying to get back to the size I was 5 years ago and to do that I need to lose about 15-20 pounds. I’ve lost 3 in 2 weeks π so 1.5 pounds a week seems doable for me.

dude, I so know what you mean! Andy and I got married last year, and since then, the two of us combined have gained over 40 pounds. In a year! sEEEERiously!
And I browsed through your blogged weight-loss last year and it SO motivated me to think of the pounds in terms of household things…camera, books, (or ten bags of flour! BLAH!) I will so do this with you if you want to blog it again! Make it fun again…shoot fun photos and find new things to weigh to show the difference! π

Well, I don’t have a lot to lose, but I’ve been wanting to lose these annoying 8 pounds ever since I gained them in college. It’s easy to say, “It’s only 8 pounds!” But it’s a slippery slope…Gotta start sometime, why not now?!?! IN!
I’m totally in! I started about two months ago and I’ve lost about 12lbs but have plateaued. This will renew my motivation! YEA! I have about 88 lbs to go π

Absolutely! I 1/2 joined you the first time, didn’t lose anything, then kicked it in gear and I’ve lost 26 pounds (and 2+ sizes) since May or so. I’m holding steady now, but can always afford to lose another 10! So I’m with ya!

i feel ya! this just crazy timing, because i just started getting back into my fitness routine the first of the month! i wanted to lose the rest of my prego weight (40 more lbs), and get into shape by next year (for the family portrait session with you guys). so, heck yeah, count me in!
I’m on board again this time! I’m down 16 pounds since August but still a lot more to go before I turn…gasp…30 in May!

back when you had first posted that photo of 13lbs, it got me motivated to lose some weight too! (And it made me realize just how heavy our equipment is as photographers!) I even ended up losing 15lbs! Wohoo! I would say that I am with you again (I could go with a few more pounds shed!) but then I became prego, and apparently they look down on losing weight while you’re growing a baby! haha! So I wish you well, and I’ll be keeping tabs on you!

Bobbi!! IΓ’β¬β’m so in! (as scary as it is!) I totally followed along last time, but I was planning my wedding and was so not ready to commit as much as I should have. Since then I have only put on more weight and itΓ’β¬β’s really really gotten to me now. I am totally changing now (my body, my energy ,my moodΓ’β¬Β¦), and IΓ’β¬β’m really not happy about it. I am a really short girl have always been really small, but since High School its gotten a little out of hand. Now that my husband and I are married we are going on our (belated) honeymoon in June (for our 1 year) and at this point Γ’β¬β I donΓ’β¬β’t exactly feel ready at all to be in that bathing suit (I actually JUST bought myself an adorable new bathing suit to motivate me!). But yeah, I need to get in shape before we start trying for a baby too, so its now or never! My goal is 25lbs down by June! (Yikes!)

I’m in!!! I need to lose about 60 lbs or so. I started blog stalking towards the very end of your friday updates last time. I’m also a Weight Watchers girl. So far i’ve lost 20 lbs that way.
Although I believe that everyone is beautiful in their own way, and it doesn’t matter what size you are, there isn’t anything wrong with getting healthy…so…count me in!
Ugh, count me in. I’m getting closer to 160 than I’m comfortable with…I want to be at 140 next week. Ok fine, in say, 5 months. 5 months to lose 18lbs.

this sounds like you are very serious about this bobbi…i think it’s great you are doing this for your health. i’m a health and food nut myself and i love talking about nutrition…it’s actually one of my favorite topics. let us know what the diet consists of if you can…you should try adding raw milk/cheese, kefir, and sprouted ezekiel bread to your diet like we did…YUM π

Not the most popular choice… but you’ll see/feel/love the results! I haven’t eaten meat or dairy products for 8 months and I have more energy, my skin looks better, I lost weight (But that wasn’t the reason I did it.. I lost about 10 lbs and maintained that), and it’s just fun trying a whole new lifestyle!

Bobbi! I have read your blog since last spring, and this is the FIRST time I have ever commented. Is that a sin? MOST LIKELY! Anywho…I originally surfed in from my wedding photographer, Julie Harris. Since her husband runs Photographik, I came across Scarlett Lillian’s website, and she linked to your blog below a photo of you two from WPPI last year, and she said something akin to how you also liked to “pop” color. I’ve had you guys’ blog bookmarked ever since. As an amateur photographer, I always find both you and Mike’s work inspiring.
I live in Denver, but went to middle school and high school in Evansville, Indiana. I had a few friends graduate from ISU, so it is especially cool to hear you talk about your college days. OMG, this is such a long freakin comment!
But long story short, I lost over 100 pounds from Jan 07 to my wedding day, June 08. Now that everything is settling back down, I am ready to get back on the healthy train to lose my goal of 35 pounds. I am down for the challenge.
I just have to pipe back in and say that, Bobbi, thanks to you I threw away my cup at lunch and DIDN’T REFILL my soda. It’s a small step….but it’s something. Thanks for pulling us all in with you!

So… I was on this big workout/health routine from May to August and lost about 22 pounds. I took a few-too-many weeks off and now I’m back on track. I admire you for doing this out in the open!
Hi bobbi…Well i’m a first time commenter and I was a little hesitant about joining the diet club…i don’t like calling it diet….more like…HEALTHY EATING CLUB THAT REAPS THE BENEFITS OF LOSING A FEW LBS. ok maybe that’s a looong name for it. So. I have about 30 lbs 2 loose. The big 30 is next month Nov 29 and I want to look at least 10lbs. Most of my weight is located ummmm…..ok i’ll say it.. boobs and butt.,, so I’m ready. I’m also real short (i’m sure i’m shorter than you). Thanks for the motivation. I’m so glad I’ll have someone to healthy-eat-with-the-benefit-of-losing-a-couple-lbs with.

Hi Bobbi (and Mike)…this is your dopey Uncle Pat…yeah, the guy in the not-so-family friendly Santa movie, for you bloggers…anyway, I’m pulling for you on the whole getting a litlte healthier thing…I too am trying to lose some weight…It’s been 16 days without any candy and 2 days with any cookies…next week I’m dropping soda as well – one vice at a time, baby steps…but I’m jonseing real bad, man. Unfortunately I’ve somehow gained three pounds – the evilness of old guy metabolism, no doubt. Stay focused, do the little things right, trust in the process and don’t worry about the results (they will come)…anyway, you and Mike are both fabulously awesome and can’t wait to see you both again soon.
