Ohhhhhh I’ve been SOOOOOOO exciiiiiiited to show you these images! 
Nick called me, wanted a session. But he wanted more than that. He wanted to propose. I emailed Rachel (who in the past had asked to be a workshop model). I’d emailed her a few times asking about it but our schedules never lined up. So, when he told me that he wanted to propose I knew the perfect head fake! I emailed, nonchalantly, “Hey, need models for a posing guide… are you free next Tuesday or Wednesday? If not, no biggie… I’m emailing a few people so get back to me as soon as you can.” She emailed me back… and we started making plans. Meanwhile, Nick and I had been talking pretty regularly to try and brainstorm about how we were going to do this. 
We had to do it TOTALLY unlike we did Lanette and Cain’s… after all, Rachel reads my blog… she’d KNOW we were up to something! 
So we started the session as if it were any other session. 
This photo perrrrrfectly captures their relationship… in my OH SO humble opinion. 🙂
So while I shot a few photos… Mike checked ahead to see where the next photo spot would be…
….but in reality…. he was tying an engagement ring to a tree branch. 🙂
I then set them up about 20 feet in front of the ring… facing forward… 
….then I backed them into the tree “by accident.” OOPS! Oh wait… what is THAT?!
WELLLLLL RACHELLLL…. IT’S AN ENGAAAAAGEMENT RING!!!!
THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING?!
YES YES YES YES! Oh wait… did YOU know about this?!
BEST. DAY. EVERRRR!!!!!
…then we proceeded to shoot REAL engagement photos! You two are the sweetest. 🙂 My favorite ❗
Then we switched up the location and outfits. By the way, Rachel I just adore those freckles! Oh… and red hair?! YES! I love her!

How they met, as told by Nick :: I was running a local CrossFit gym, and had run a LivingSocial promotion. Rachel picked up the deal, became one of my clients, and we became friends over the next few months. Before our first date we had both been actively telling ourselves not to get “involved”. An impromptu social outing to see KISS (rock!), where nobody else showed up, turned into our first date.
