A wedding in Kansas City (my hometown) + one of my very good friends in the wedding party + HILARIOUS bridesmaids + a ridiculously gorgeous bride and a so very handsome groom =  HOLY SHIZ AMAZINGNESS! I flipping loved this wedding… guaranteed you will too. 🙂

Did I mention that Krissie was a gorgeous bride?! She has one of the most beautiful smiles I’ve ever photographed. FO’SERIOUS!
Kelley… the maid of honor checking out the makeup. 🙂 You see, my good friend Heather Cole (AKA, blonde Bobbi or me… redheaded Heather…) was a bridesmaid in this wedding so I felt like I knew everyone before I ever met them. Heather has been friends with them for over 20 years… sooooo… yeah… it’s kind of shocking that this was the first time I’d met them all. I’m telling you, these are my kinda girls. Fun. Real. Crazy. BADABOOM BADABING! …meanwhile….Every time we shoot a wedding in Kansas City (and by every time I mean… all TWO times 😉 ) I want to move back. I used to think it was just a skewed perception… but I can say with 100% certainty that Kansas City consistently has some of the most genuinely kind, hospitable, and comfortable-in-their-skin people we’ve ever met. Mike agrees so I’m not being partial! The bridesmaids are blown away by Krissie’s beauty. Oh and Kelsi… you’re the only un-married one in the bunch (tall girl in the back)… so I’m jussssst puttin’ it out there… when Neal pops that question… let bbmk be the third phone call you make. 1) mom & dad.  2) your best friend.  3) bobbi+mike.  K? k. 😀Ohhhh you groomsmen!
Ga-ga-ga gorrrrrgeous! From left to right… Kelsi, Heather, Kelley, Krissie, Dakotah and Christa. 🙂They were both beaming from ear to ear……a very cool venue! The minister was as impressed with the ring as the rest of us were!I love this angle. I married me a gooooood photographerrrrr…YOU’RE MARRIED!!!!Loved the brown dresses paired with the pale pink bouquets. And the gray tux with a brown vest? I’ve never seen that combo and I dig it!Well hello there Kansas City! Nice of you to join us. 😀
WACKY WEDDING PARTY!
As we were finishing up the portrait time for the two of them, Mike found a spot of incredible sunlight… where was said spot?! On the corner of a very busy street. You know how I always say that I’ll take good light over good backgrounds ANY DAY… well here’s a perfecto example of that. See the next image below to see where we shot these.
….RIGHT?! But the light was just so yummy!
One of my favorite parts of a wedding… the first dance.

THENNNN… they surprised us all with a dance break. BOOM SHAKA LAKA!!!!

The Band… Lost Wax 😀

I don’t very often post photos from our Unboxed Photobooth to the blog… but I just couldn’t resist!

[br]What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Krissie:  Hearing Ryan’s personal vows – they blew me away!!! There wasn’t a dry eye in the place! He even had the guys in tears. Also – our surprise dance montage – I loved looking around seeing everyone screaming and having a good time!! So cool!

Ryan: 2 things.  Seeing my wife in her gown for the first time in the hall way of the hotel was special….and hearing her vows and how I created a “safe Place” for her.

[br] Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Krissie:  1) Soak in every single moment, because it truly does go so fast!   2) Have a few friends be your ‘drink buddies’ because you will constantly lose your drink throughout the night.   3) Take time to chat with your guests, but don’t forget to dance the night away too!!   4)  Bobbi and Mike’s Unboxed Photo Booth! BIG HIT!!!!   5) Open Bar!

Ryan: The day is about you, but if you make sure your guests have a good time then you will be rewarded , because it will make it more memorable for you.

[br]Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Krissie:  Getting ready in bridal suite – bridesmaid Dakotah (who is THE nicest person you’ll ever know) yelling at the Jimmy John’s manager for not being ‘freaky fast’, not getting the bride her 10 packets of mustard (they gave us mayo), and explaining this was the “worst experience of her LIFE”! Hilarious!  Lots of fun memories of all of us girls together laughing and getting ready!

[br]If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Krissie:  More time on the dance floor! We had the BEST band in KC, and we didn’t get a chance to show off our mad skills on the dance floor. (JK)

Ryan: I would not change 1 thing.  It went really well and a lot of people made a point to tell us how much they really good time and that is the key to a good wedding.

[br]Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Beautiful Costa Rica!
