KANSAS CITY, Mo. She had NO idea I was coming… I called Jeff right after Zachary was born to set up a time to come surprise her. So, about a week after he was born I knocked on their door. I heard people inside scurrying quickly around (she was breastfeeding and they were covering her up). Jeff opened the door… and I walked in to find her covered in blankets… she started SOBBING! "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE HERE! I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE HERE!" Of course I started crying too. That might have been the BEST surprise I've EVER pulled out of my hat.
Zachary is so perfect in every way. WOW! I can't believe she's a mom!!!!!!!! And, she's perfect at it… 🙂 The way she looks at him, how relaxed she is, how happy she is… it's unreal. You two are amazing parents 🙂
I wonder if he'll be an athlete? I'm sure he will be. Corrie was a hardcore competitive athlete in high school.. she was the best one in every sport she played. Maybe I'm partial… but you should have seen her run. WOW! And the photos of Jeff's arms above… seriously, need I say more?! I cannot wait to watch Zachary grow up! 😀
Corrie, I flippin' miss you BIG time! It's SO hard for me being 600 miles away from you 🙁 Whatever… enough about that, I'll start getting emotional.

my best friend lives 2 hours from me, and when she has a baby, i plan on doing the SAME THING! BEST SURPRISE EVER! I can’t wait to experience my best friend giving me a niece or a nephew. These photos made me cry just thinking about it.

These are just so real, and so precious. My favorites are him grabbing his dad’s finger, and him crying on the hardwood floor. I’m a weirdo, but I would make the hardwood floor one into a canvas. 🙂 I really love the emotion you captured here. And how great to surprise your BFF!

Can you believe it. Corrie is a Mom. I can’t believe how long Zach is. He does look a lot like Corrie, but hopefully he will be built like Jeff. I love these photos. Great job. Great Surprise. Too fun.
