Texas session #4 out of 8. 🙂

This family is, to date, the most energetic family we’ve photographed. As a matter of fact, if you look up “fun parents”  in the dictionary… you’ll find  a photo of Angie and Matt.

Cal and Ava, though 3 years apart, are the best of friends.  Usually with a little brother/big sister situation… the big sister is totally annoyed with her little brother.  Not Ava though… she thinks Cal’s hilarious. Though, that may be a different story when they’re not getting their photo taken 😉

Matt could throw Cal higher than I’ve EVER seen a dad throw a kid…. EVERRRR!

Mark my words… Cal, someday, is going to be a very well paid comedian.  He spent the ENTIRE session trying to make me laugh.  It worked.

I couldn’t get my eye close to the viewfinder because I’m a girl 😉 I won’t lie… getting up and down from there wasn’t comfortable… nor was it pretty/graceful (I skinned my shin coming back down)… but it was TOTALLY worth it!

Texas session #3 out of 8. 🙂

Remember Madison and Jackson??? Of COURSE you do!!! Remember the session with the two adorable kids with the red and blue umbrellas? In the field? YES YES YES! THATTTT ONE! See, told you you’d remember!

Let me tell you… this family is special to us.  There was an instant connection… and I knew they’d always be in our lives. Sandy, their amazing mother (who reminds me SO much of my own… both in looks and personality) has stayed in touch keeping us in the loop about all things jackson+madison 😀 She’s also said, many times, that it was time for her to be IN the photos… and that she wouldn’t settle for anyone else taking them.  Talk about pressure!  Photographing/seeing this family was what really clinched the deal on making the trip to Texas.

Enough outta me… on with the photos.

INTRODUCING…. SANDY!!!!! OHHHH how I flipping adore this family!

Uhm… are you KIDDING ME?! Has all of this happened in just TWO SHORT YEARS?! You’re so grown up! But… let’s be real… they’re still the same weirdos they were then… just a few inches taller 🙂

SEE?! Doesn’t she look just a bit like my mom? I mean, in terms of likeness… she’s not twin status like Alexis from yesterday… but maybe second cousin-ish?

Hey blog readers, when you were 13/14… did you look like this?! Madison and Jackson… you were  obviously born in pretty-ville.  Us, we were living that age in awkward city!

Sometimes when I’m shooting I turn into karate kid meets J-Lo.

my best Cousin Itt. 🙂 When I was a kid I had REEEEEEALLY long hair (past the bottom of my butt… yeah, INTENSE!), and I could do this much better… but, not to worry… It seems haven’t lost my touch entirely. 🙂  The key is pushing your arms forward so it looks like you’re standing backwards.  …Unless you’re a grown up and have grown up girl parts… that’ll give you away EVERY time!

*JUSSSSST in case anyone thought I was serious… I was kidding about the graffiti 🙂 However, I’m not mad at the person who DID graffiti that wall 😀

Mike, defending my honor in a two on one sword fight… WITHOUT a sword.  He’s my hero…

Then, at the very end of the session, we let the kids take a few photos of us 🙂 Here Gage is shooting while Alexis is art directing.

She was saying, “Okay guys, I want you to look cool. Casey put your foot up on the wall. Bobbi, kneel down. Mike… yes… that… perfect!”

SEEEEEE!!!!! Here we are… TWINS!!!!!! When she walked up, with a bounce in her step… looking IDENTICAL to me… I had one of those rare speechless Bobbi moments. It was as though I was looking at a much younger version of myself. I was blown away.  I took an iPhone pic and sent it to my Aunt Karen… didn’t give an explanation… just sent it.  Her response, “OH MY GOSH IS THAT YOU?!!!?!? THAT IS WILD!!!” Then at the end of the session I called her… she wanted to talk to Alexis, “Hi sweetie… You have one of my favorite faces in the entire world!”

You know how every kid has a funny face?  Well… here’s mine 🙂 Famously referred to as “the cabbage patch face.” I wanted to see if she could do it. You have to have pretty distinct features for this to work. Are you KIDDING me?! My twin… 100000%

There aren’t many photos of me from this age… but I was DETERMINED to find one as soon as I got home.  This was the best I could do 🙂 Crazy, huh?!  Alexis, you’re stuck with me now my friend… we’re best friends for LIFE! 😀  I’m going to photograph your wedding someday, MARK MY WORDS!  Thanks for being such a good sport about this 🙂 Really… thank you. 😀 😀 😀
