This is a special one folks!
I’m ridiculousy excited to share this family session with you all! Please make sure you have time to dedicate to this blog post beyond just that quick scroll so many of us do when we look at blogs (GUILTY!) So if you don’t have time, come back later so you can really soak this sweet family in.
I first met Addie and Dustin in 2011 when Mike and I photographed their engagement session and surprise wedding in Florida. Nowwwww they have a sweet Samara. 🙂
On the left, Megan’s view. On the right, mine. I couldn’t love these two images more.
AHHHH!!!! FAAAAVORIIIIITE!!!! I mean LOOOOOK at all of these genuine and amazing smiles! If you look up “joy” in the dictionary, this photo appears. Okay I’m lying… but it SHOULD appear!
Meet Begby, Addie has had him in her life for 15 years so OF COURSE he had to be part of the session! Duhhhh…
Ohhhh how I love this one! I think sweet Samara looks JUST like her momma.. But in this one, I see daddy. 🙂
What I love most about family sessions that happen at home is that I just captured a view of your real life… your “every day.” This image on the left, through the lenses of your 30 year goggles will take you straight back to a different decade as though it happened yesterday.
That’s why you should hire a photographer who makes you comfortable and confident enough to show them your true self… the you that you are when no one else is looking. That’s what I pride myself most on; making this dreadful “getting your photo taken” thing easy… making you relax… making it fun… ensuring that everyone is comfortable enough to show me their “living room self.”
Right after Samara ate, we had an outfit change and headed into a closeby area with a local shopping center and some nice greenery. 🙂 Samara was soooo tired but she rallied!
These two images below… man oh man… MAN OH MAN! Deja vu! It feels like just yesterday that I was taking nearly the exact same photo at their engagement session. The difference… five years of marriage. See it? Yeah. It’s confidence, comfort, warmth, security… that’s what five years of marriage looks like. Oh man, MARRIAGE! I love my job. Really and truly I do.
Aunt Megan makin’ baby Samara laugh. 😀
Addie had two requests: 1) a photo of her feeding Samara aaaand…2) “little people big sky” CHECK AND MARK!
Behind the scenes
See why I call her “Aunt Megan”?! Babies / kids LOOOOVE her!!!!
Neeeeeed I say mooooore?!
Addie and Dustin, thank you for being you and for well… being okay with ummm… you know… the change in my business. Thank you for still valuing me as a person, friend and photographer. I’m lucky to have met you five years ago and I’m even luckier now to have been asked to photograph your growing family. It was a true honor both times. But this time… THIS TIME… this time it was more special than I could ever put into words. Bottom line: thank you for loving me no matter what. The feeling couldn’t be more mutual. 🙂 …and nowwww I’m crying…
Much love friends!
~Bobbi
Hey blog readers! I would love to photograph your growing family in your home. Let’s make it happen!
Oh my word! This session is perfection. Addie, you and your family are just so beautiful. These images made me smile! They are all my favorites!
That black and white image of Addie nursing Samara though- Priceless!
These are SO REAL! They’re truly fortunate to have you by their sides through the many milestones in their lives. You’re a blessing Bobbi!
All I can say is WOW! You made my adorable family even cuter. And the breastfeeding shots will be such a great reminder of this time in our families history. Oh and the little people is for sure replacing the canvas in our living room.
You’re simply the best. The best photographer and the best person.
Also forgot to tell you that Joy is Samaras middle name. I think that’s why it follows her around wherever she goes.
I am totally obsessed with this session. I have already looked it over a few times. Love the shot of Mom with Samara bending over to give you a smile. I NEED photos like this of my little fam – SO BAD. Love it!
I’m the Mom you caught on film when Addie and Duck announced their wedding in Florida. Once again you have “caught” my dear family at a joyous time in their lives. Do your photos always make people cry?? Thank you.
Oh man.. how sweet sweet sweet. I love this blog post! And the casual feel of the home session. LOVE it. You guys totally rock…. all 5 of you.
I can blame all my photographer friends for the baby fever I have… haha. Samara is so sweet and happy! Bobbi – every single shot is amazing. Your favorite is my favorite, too, awesome picture of the three of them. Outstanding portraits, you rock!
I love this session so so much. Can’t wait for you to photograph our family again someday. Its been too long. You nailed this session, I’d love images like these of us. So beautiful. big love, friend. xx
Gorgeous family, gorgeous shots. I love those ones in the kitchen….so real and intimate….(and the CAT!!!) LOVE!
amazing!
These are all SO amazing but I just have to tell you, those kitchen table shots made me tear up. They are just so real and beautiful. Love your art, Bobbi!!
Bobbi and Megan! These photos are so, so wonderful. I couldn’t love them any more!!! You two are so beyond-talented. I am so lucky; I feel like any time in the future I might find myself overwhelmed or exhausted or even the slightest bit jaded with life, all I would have to do is look at these images to be reminded of just what an amazing and beautiful life I get to have. Thank you for this gorgeous glimpse of my family. This, THIS, is why I wanted a real-life session in our home, and not multiple forced poses in some stuffy studio. This is why I needed YOU to photograph us. In these beautiful-yet-real shots, I can hear my husband laughing, or Begby squeaking, or my girl’s contented rhythmic breaths as she snacks. Thirty-year (foggy-from-crying) goggles for sure!
P.S. And about that photo that you said looks like “joy” in the dictionary… Did you even know that Samara’s middle name is Joy?? Gave me big ol’ grins to read that. Kismet!
Oh, Bobbi!! You sure know how to catch beauty & magic in photos. What an absolutely beautiful family!
The one where Samara is looking right at you on the bed is amazing! Awesome job!!!
