I used to live for the Grammy’s… every year I would mark it off of my calendar and would anxiously await all of the over the top performances, belted ballads and yearly awards. This year was no exception.
Well, MUCH to my surprise the Cirque du Soleil Beatles LOVE show made an appearance. I saw this show last year in Vegas and NEVER in my life have I seen something so incredible. I still get chills at the thought of it. Well… the Grammy performance was awesome…. (though seeing it in person, there’s NO way they could have ever given it justice… but well… you know)
THEN… THE BEATLES WON A GRAMMY!!!!!! Now, anyone who REALLY knows me knows that I’m a HUUUUUUUUUUGE Beatles fan…. like, RIDICULOUS! Well, when Ringo got up to accept his Grammy, I was crying like a baby. My reaction even shocked ME. Seeing Ringo and George Martin up there without John Lennon and George Harrison made me sob. Yeah, I know… I’m a little dramatic. But, wow.
Here is some of my Beatles artwork from when I was 15 🙂 YOU HEARD ME RIGHT… FIFTEEEEEN YEARS OLD!!!! Yeah, told you I was a big fan.
This was made out of ripped magazine ads.
This was my first ever acrylic painting…
This has been the best Grammy’s awards show (thus far) that I’ve EVER seen! And it’s not even halfway over. I’m in heaven! I’m thinking that with the Writer’s Guild strike… there was a need for more performances and less talking. I wish that they’d do this more often! AWESOME!!!!!
Oh, and… Tina Turner’s performance was AH-MA-ZINNNNNG! I looked it up… she was born in 1939… WOW!!!! My grandma was born in 1939 🙂 WORK IT OUT TINA!!!!!!!
Alright…. enough of me being overly excited. 😀
Anyone else out there watching? What do you think?????

PS. I’ll be back to regularly scheduled blogging soon… I’ve been FEVERISHLY working on a new bobbi+mike website that I cannot WAIT to show you 🙂
I’m totally with you here — I even had to look up Tina’s birth year!
This is so ironic! I was listening to the Love album from the show yesterday and thinking… “I wonder if Bobbi saw the show in Vegas!” hee hee.
I love that album. I was worried I would be offended by it. But it made me love the Beatles even more.
We can’t wait to see your new website!!! 🙂
oooooohhh…can’t wait to see your new site!! My bother-in-law works for the recording academy, so my hubby and I may be heading to the Grammy’s next year….this year their Mom went, and was escorted by a couple famous people…pretty cool. 🙂
Oh, your artwork is pretty cool too….thanks for sharing it with us!
what aren’t you good at?
And to think I knew you when….. My computer has (and still is) down so I have not been able to check your site recently. I’m sure I’ve missed soooo much. As usual I am extremely impressed. I have been showing of your talents to all at my new job. I can’t wait to see you.
Love you both bunches,
Aunt Karen

Big Fan of Aunt Karen.
Big Fan
1. Tina & Beyounce were AMAZING. I wish I tivoed…
2. I decided that next year I am going… and i WILL get in 🙂
3. Your non photographic artwork is amazing! I think I can speak for everyone when I say… more more more!!!
Bobbi! I’m totally with you. Jeremy and I are huge Beatles fans as well! In fact, our first dance will be to “In my life”! We were both VERY excited to see them win a Grammy. I’m so jealous that you got to see that show in Vegas! Great artwork as well… you’re sooo talented!
I’m so sad I had to miss it. But wow, it was fun listening to you give all the juicy details. LOL I was in a wedding last summer and they played Good Day Sunshine as the couple walked back down the aisle. It was so fun.
All hail The Beatles!!!
Now let me get this straight: you’re a fantab photog, appreciate THE BEST music, are losing weight at a steady rate AND you have artwork from over a decade ago that is phenom?!
Stop already.
The rest of us are feeling inadequate.
🙂
Now, why is it that the overly-busy-super-de-duper creative types always have to one-up themselves with things like NEW websites and stuff? Huh? Is it something in the water???
Again. Give the rest of us a chance.
Stop setting the bar sooooo high.
🙂
my FAVORITE comment of the night… was when Vince Gill said “I was just given a grammy by a Beatle… you had that happen yet Kanye?” OMG I almost died laughing. It’s nice to see someone put Kanye West in his place in a really classy way.
I agree! This years Grammys were the BEST EVER!! I just told my friend that this morning. The entertainment was awesome! Particularly Beyonce and Tina – and then Kenya (sp?) West’s tribute to his mother . . . I cried too. Also, I had to Google Tina’s age AND Cher’s age at the same time . . . man, great minds MUST think alike:) They both are amazing and are two of my all time favorite entertainers.
By the way . . . GREAT artwork, too:)
OK…I know Bobbi may take me off the list for this but, I didn’t get the whole LOVE tribute thing. I guess you have to see the show. And I’m a huge fan of Broadway…grew up there, love all kinds of shows. Maybe I was thinking too much into it…my husband kept asking about the girl twirling and the kid on the bed:)
I am a big Beatles fan..I just didn’t get that. Fire away! (I have to be honest…it’s part of my Lenten sacrifice:) )
Oh Bobbi,
I remember when, as well. Can you believe that you Aunt Karen commented? I think it is wonderful. I love seeing the artwork, again. You are so gifted. Keep giving me more bragging rights. I love you.
Momba
AND you paint?! You did an awesome job on that, so don’t take this the wrong way. Why did you paint a tribute to John Mireles when you were young? lol. John, you know I think you’re the man.

Your artistic all the way around!!
Bobbi your artwork is phenomenal! Bryan and I would actually buy your work that is how good it is 🙂
Giiiiirrrrlll! Your art rocks! It’s been foreeeeeeeeever since I painted or evern drew! I don’t have enough room in my house to make a mess like I like to when I draw 😉 I missed the Grammys! I suck!!
I’m also a Beatles fan!! I had two different boyfriends in high school give me movies for presents. I have A Hard Day’s Night and Help! on VHS if you ever want to borrow them! LOL.
I turned the show on during Tina Turner’s performance and I have to say it was impressive!! I hope I’m a rockstar like that at her age 😀
the grammys were awesome!!!!
although…amy winhouse was a little whacko.
i LOVE the beatles right there with you—this year for Halloween Jason & I were John Lennon & Yoko Ono.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! I know we’ve already had the official Beatles competition. 😉 BUT, I had to comment because I cannot believe you did torn up magazine Beatles art in JR high too!!! Of course, mine was slightly different in that it was in black and white and I did each of the Beatles separately (john and paul…..I never finished the others). We definitely were the coolest kids in our junior highs! 🙂
Would it kill you to know that i was walking around outside the Grammy’s on Sunday.???? It was absolutely off the charts and we weren’t even by the red carpet door. Two of my friends snuck into the outdoor Foo Fighters concert!!
First of all…your artwork is amazing! Second of all, tonight for my photography class, I’m supposed to bring in images by a photographer I like. I’m SO bringing in tons of fabulous Bobbi+Mike photos for everyone to drool over. I can’t wait to show you off!
