Back in 2017 I got an email from a very nice man named Michele who lived in Belgium.

The email went like this:

“My girlfriend (Miranda) and I are planning to visit the South (New-Orleans, Alabama, Georgia, South & North Carolina and Tennessee) during October 2018. We love having couple sessions during our trips (which always create great memories). As my girlfriend will turn 30 in November 2018, I’m planning a big surprise for her by setting a session with you (for full disclosure, she is a huuuuge fan of your work and she will be more than thrilled to meet you in person, she might even faint!).”

UMMMM WHAAAAA??!?!!!?!! YOU LIVE IN BELGIUM AND YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS SUCH A BIG FAN SHE MIGHT FAINT WHEN SHE MEETS ME?!?!!? WHAAAAAAA???!!??!!

…hold on… let me jump off of this cloud you just put me on and come back to reality….

“YES YES YES, LET’S DO THIS!!!!!”

Photographing this couple was truly a dream come true. I adored them so damn much!

Their only request was to go to a record store. Megan and I found the perfect one online, however when we showed up it they had JUST torn down the old really cool one with all of the character and replaced with a shiny new one with beautiful woodwork and neon lights. Ummm…. ummm… UMMMMM!!!! Whatever, let’s make this work!

….and make it work we did! Side note: see MegMoney back there searching for a record of her own? She had no idea she was in the shot and I didn’t want to yell across the shiny new echo-y store to ask her to move. Oh well, she’s a legit patron who’s legit shopping therefore she’s part of the legit atmosphere so I’m goin’ with it!

I could photograph Nashville every day for the rest of my life. Dramatic? Yes. True? Mostly. 😉
