LOUISVILLE, Ky. BEST WEDDING DANCE WE'VE EVER WITNESSED…. EVERRRRRR!!!!! 😀
So, Katie and Burny had been planning on having a surprise first dance… and had been planning it for a long time. Who knew that Burny does an AMAZING Michael Jackson… and THAT had been their planned rehearsed dance for MONTHS. WELLLLLLLL… Michael Jackson died TWO days before their wedding. So, Katie thought it wouldn't be a good idea to go through with it. Burny, on the other hand… wasn't budging! He was ready to bust out his moon walk. AND MOOOON WALK HE DID!!!!!!! NO one knew it was coming… NO ONE!!!!! (well, we knew… but only because we had to be prepared). Not even the best man/maid of honor knew.
Okay… so, I'm going to try to give you guys a play by play… and we all KNOW how AMAZING I am at this! (not) They did their first dance RIGHT as they were introduced (which is always my FAVORITE time for a first dance… as ALLLL of your guests are looking at you) and began to dance to "Nothing Fancy" by Dave Barnes. Out of nowhere, Burny leaves and walks over to the DJ… I hear someone mutter behind me, "What the hell is he doing?!" Katie appears pissed. Then the DJ says that Burny has a different idea for what their first dance should be… "Billie Jean" starts playing. Burny comes out of nowhere with a hat and sequins glove and busts out his best Michael Jackson dance moves! OH YES HE DID>>>> OH YESSSSS HE DID!!!!!! Katie, meanwhile is still appearing angry… hands on hips with a scowl. About halfway through Billie Jean, we see her storm over to the DJ. Again, I hear muttering behind me, "ohhh she's mad… she's going to stop the music!" The DJ then says that Katie wants him to play a different song. "The Way You Make Me Feel" starts playing. Katie starts dancing with Burny… the crowd FINALLY realizes that it's all been planned. I wish you all could have seen it! Oh wait… there's a video of it! CLICK HERE TO SEE IT! 😀
I have to say that though Katie feared that maybe the timing was off with their dance happening just two days after the death of Michael Jackson… but really… it was such an awesome homage. And the crowd loved every second of it. 🙂
