Hiya friends 🙂 This is going to be a short & sweet healthy train post…. as I haven’t been to bed yet from last night… and I know that by the time I get around to it… it’d be WAY later. SO, yesyesyes…. trying to get this done early 😀
I haven’t weighed myself yet… I’ll do it when I wake up and then update with my results then 🙂
As of yesterday… I hadn’t lost anything since two weeks ago. The good news? I didn’t gain, either. The last two weeks have been full of travel (St. Louis, Dayton & Cincinnati) and a lot of stress so… not gaining is a HUGE deal for me in these circumstances. (I SUCK at travel/healthy eating!)
Here’s the last two weeks via my iPhone…
Actually… there are a few photos missing…
- the chiggers that attacked me at Lindsey & Beto’s session. My stomach is STILLLLL itch central. Even the finger nail polish wasn’t working! I do have a photo of it… but… that’s a bit tooooo personal… even for ME!
- My poor bug got broken into… glass EVERYWHERE. All for a stinkin’ GPS. ugh.
- oh, and the bugs brakes went out… as in… the caliper froze up… or something like that. The whole car ordeal cost us $1700+ ARGH!
- I’ve found out that I need to go on a temporary strict diet due to some recent health discoveries. Nothing serious… so no need to worry… but the next couple of weeks aren’t going to be easy. (I don’t like to talk about my diet… people are so opinionated when it comes to what we should/shouldn’t eat… so… I’d rather just keep that info to myself… I hope you understand 🙂 )
So… bottom line… it’s been a bit of a stressful couple of weeks…. and I maintained… so, yes yes yes… VICTORY!
How’d you do on your mini goals? Me? hmm… not so much. My mini goal was to work out 7x between then and today. That didn’t happen. I planned on taking a self photo after every gym today for accountability… Here’s what I’ve got:
4x.
I suppose that’s better than nothin’ right? bleh… not too proud of myself on that one…
So, this strict diet that I’ll be on in the immediate future… well… working out isn’t going to be a priority this time.
My mini goal to achieve before next weigh in? SLEEEEP 😀 Maybe you knew… maybe you didn’t… but I’m a bit of an insomniac (duh, right?!) My mini goal is to be in bed before 1:30 am for 8 nights between now and June 11th. I think if I slept more my overall health would greatly improve.
Here’s a photo of me with 3 of my favorite girls taken back in February. None of us had really slept the night before (afterall, it IS a slumber party… who slumbers at a SLUMBER party?!)… well, this was at the height of my insomnia… I hadn’t slept for 3 nights when this was taken. I mean… I’d get in an hour or two every night… but MAN OH MAN did it take its toll on me! The good news is that I’ve DEFINITELY improved… but I’m certainly not 100%. Jess (on the left) says that if I had a regular sleep schedule that it would greatly improve my sleep…. hence the 1:30 deadline. 🙂
LOOOOK at me there… it’s like my eyes are all “Interview with a Vampire” Brad Pitt style… and I don’t mean that as a good thing!
Okay, back on topic!
Your turn to make ONE goal to attain by next weigh in. Something small. Little changes that, hopefully after 2 weeks, will become a part of our lives.
Examples:
- drink 64oz of water each day
- walk the dogs every day after work
- do not eat after 8pm
- etc, etc, etc…
Mine? well… I already told you mine 🙂 In bed before 1:30am at LEAST 8x.
What’s YOURS??? Don’t make anything toooo crazy and unattainable… set yourself up for success! And like last weigh in post, let us all know in the comment section so that it a)holds you accountable and b) may give others ideas. 😀
To those on the train, be sure to weigh in via the Google doc first thing today! 😀
A few quick reminders:
- Next official weigh in is June 11.
- If you’re a twitterer, be sure to add the hashtag #healthytrain to your HT tweet.
- Join “bobbi’s healthy train” group on Facebook… ANYONE can join… not just the people with the before pics. My trainer is an admin … so if you have fitness questions, ask ‘em there! Dane is also an admin, so if you have questions about diet/need motivation… he’s the guy to talk to. We’d love to have you… 😀
- You don’t have to be officially competing to participate.
- If you haven’t measured yourself yet, DO IT!
- We’ll be taking optional “progress pics” July 23 to keep the motivation levels high… OHHHH YESSSSSS!!!!
- Finale date is October 29th.
Much love friends!
~bobbi ❗

good work, bobbi. 4x at the gym is incredible. 🙂 I haven’t been to the gym in over a month! my excuse was, it’s nice outside, i’ll start jogging. and I did that twice last week. 🙁 Oh well!
Good luck sleeeeping! your body will thank you 🙂
I had a really good two weeks, which was actually a suprise to me! I just had to share because I am so excited and motivated- My goal for the next two weeks it to break 20% of my starting body weight lost- and as of today I only have .38% to go!!!! I cannot believe I have gotten this far and I have to say I am pretty darn proud of myself! I have never been one to set goals and reach them until the last year or two and I cannot believe how good it feels and how motivating it is. Now I have to figure out what to conquer next!
Hope you are feeling better soon bobbi, and insomnia can lead to all sorts of health issues. If you are ever interested in my cognitive way to help shut off your brain at night, shoot me an email, I am happy to share it!
Bobbi ~ I feel your pain. You are under so much stress! To not have gained weight is quite an accomplishment!!!!! You did GREAT!
My mini goal ~ Not to eat cake. We have about 8 graduation and birthday parties in the next two weeks!!!
I’m glad that my numbers keep going down, but I think during these past three weeks it’s been more because I’ve been sick with strep throat several times and not so much healthy eating and exercise. I didn’t meet my goal of writing down what I eat at all, although I did find my old notebook that I write it down in. My new challenge is that my son is out of pre-school which means that I’ve lost my dedicated walking time. So my new goal will be figuring out how/when to work out with him at home. I doubt that he would willingly sit in the stroller for an hour to let me walk 3 miles. Maybe with some bribery…
I just graduated college with a Bachelor’s so hopefully now that all the partying is done and I don’t have to study anymore I can eat healthier and sleeping more. I haven’t lost anything this time around in fact I gained and it’s all because I of graduation… ugh. I wish I had been more careful with my food choices.
My mini gain will be to drink more water and less diet coke… I have a serious caffeine problem…
I *need* to start drinking more water…so I’m going with a goal of drinking 64oz of water/day…
My goal is to actually work out this week and not just rely on eating right to lose weight. I’ve lost 3 lbs this week just by not snacking. I wonder what i could do if I actually exercised?
100 oz of water a day!
Sleep is VERY important. Great mini goal for ya!
Mine is to complete the first week of P90X. 🙂
Way to go Bobbi, maintaining while traveling is hard to do!
I started using a food tracking app on my phone last week and just having to enter everything I put in my mouth was enough to make me make better choices.
The next two weeks my goal is to go for a long after dinner walk 8 times. I think I’ll drag my family with me for company and we’ll all get some exercise.
Keep up the great work everyone!
I still have not lost anything and I’m so disappointed in myself, because i know I can do better. In fact, at last weigh-in I set my goal to work out 5x each week. I started on a roll, then got sidetracked. I lost 3 lbs before getting off track. Then it was that time of the month and now it’s all back.
My goal for this period is to exercise 3x a week, but also drink 64oz of water a day. Going to fill up my jug now!
love this part of your blog. so inspiring. love how honest you are, and how BEAUTIFUL You look in that photo where mikey is sleeping (or pretending to!) on your chest.
OK I know this is totally dumb, but my goal over the next two weeks is to take a family picture. I don’t know if it is because I am MUCH more comfortable behind the camera rather than in front, but I seriously have put this off! Having just had a baby (6 months ago) and feeling totally frumpy makes me run from the camera! A family picture will be good because I will hang it up on the fridge and every time I want to eat something bad I will have to look at it and remind myself to stay focused!! Thank you Bobbi for posting pictures of yourself! You are so genuine and amazing!!
Personal Short Term Gooooooooooaaallllll: To not eat past 8pm.
I am a night time snacker. It is my down fall. For the next two weeks I will NOT snack after 8pm. Even if the siren sound of popcorn popping calls to me, I will resist. Two weeks, right? That is 14 days…336 Hours…20,160 Minutes…1,209,600 Seconds…
My short term goal (that will hopefully morph into a lifestyle…ha!) is to go to bed a the same time John does. So I’m not slipping into bed with a stranger as he sleeps!
Bobbi, I think you look beautiful in that photo!
Love these kind of posts. Keep ’em coming doll!
My short term goal is to drink more water. I have slacked off on that! Dang it!
My semi long term goal? I signed up for a half marathon in November! EEKS!! http://monumentalmarathon.com/ Here it is if anyone wants to join! I will be walking/jogging (I have never ran before in my life, so here we go!!)
Thanks! Keep up the good work everyone!
How do you look so cute after the gym? I seriously look like hell afterwards! Way to keep up with this and you still got to the gym 4 times right?!!!
My 2-week goal is to focus on eating more vegetables at home. Fresh, frozen, I don’t care…at least 2 servings of veggies a day for the next two weeks! 🙂
PS: Bobbi, what app do you use for the polaroids? I have shake-it photo, which I love, but I really like the look of yours too!
hipstimatic… I’m a BIG fan… clearly 😉 Miss you Katie!
Top 5! Yay. I have been trying hard. I am so proud of everyone. My mini goal is to make sure I move somehow 5 times a week weather it is at the gym or just a walk/jog with the dog. It doesnt have to be hard core everytime as long as I am moveing.
Aw man….I was hoping to make the blog. Next time, next time. I will keep trying!!!!!!!! My goal is to get to the gym 5 times/week and complete week 5 of C25K without dying. 🙂
Congrats to all the loosers!
I’ve decided I have too much stress right now to really push the weight loss, so I am focused on maintaining. My goal to run 3 times a week.
Aww, I love that snap of you and Mike. Your hair looks adorable and flowy.
4x is not a bad thing. At least it was 2x!
I just got a treadmill. My goal is to use it more days a week than not. 🙂
I read an article that what you really need to do to get on a normal sleep schedule is wake up at the same time every day. Then your body gets into a normal sleep schedule! If you want more information, I could try to find the article!
Congrats on not gaining bobbi! We are on the road this weekend so my weigh in will have to be delayed. I think my goal for this next stretch is going to be not to eat within two hours of bedtime. It is too easy for me to mindlessly snack while editing!
Bobbi – 4 times in two weeks is great for someone traveling like you. Remember 4 is better then 3…or none, so don’t discount your accomplishments!
My mini goal – Is the same as last times. For the next two weeks, don’t eat any junk that people bring to the office. It worked for one week…and then, I forgot it was my birthday week. I couldn’t say no to birthday bread pudding OR the birthday monkey bread. So this time…I’ll do it!
PS – That picture of you with Mike on your shoulder is HOT!
I’ve read numerous places that getting 8-10 hours of sleep/night and going to bed before 11 or so helps a lot with losing/maintaing weight b/c the more you’re alseep, the more you’re NOT eating! And definitely I’ve heard the regular schedule thing helps sleep issues, so if you can get on a regular schedule and sleeping well, you’ll be set! I’m so sorry you’ve been having trouble sleeping. After two kids I can definitely understand not sleeping and it SUCKS. So I hope you can sleep well soon!
Top loser here! Yay! You have no idea how cool it is to see my name at the top. I am not only losing weight to look and feel better, I am making this way of eating my lifestyle! I am at risk for diabetes in the future and I want to avoid that as best I can. So I am not exactly sure where this will power has come from but I am still going strong! I have only cheated on my diet once. I just HAD to have pizza! And it was so worth it. I am glad we are weighing in every two weeks because I didn’t lose anything at all that week. That motivated me for the next week because my goal is to lose SOMETHING every two weeks even if it’s just half a pound. So far I have been doing better than that but as I get closer to my goal, I am sure it will slow down but I am not going to let that discourage me. I want pictures of myself for my kids and I want you to take them! It means I have to travel to get them but I REALLY want it! Sorry for the long comment… My short term goal is to get to the gym 6 times before our next weigh in and drink more water…been slacking on that.
My mini goal is to do at least 1 set (12) of push ups every day, girl push ups right now I’ll throw in a couple military push ups…if possible.
My goal is to actually USE the weightwatchers tool this week. I’ve been making some healthy decisions, but i’m sure I’ve made up for it other places. I was really good that first week (and actually lost weight!) I also need to keep Kyle on track. I’m thinking getting beer out of the house would REALLY help him.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that iphone picture of you and mike! Best picture of you two ever! First of all you look like a super skinny sexy mama beast 🙂 (Thats a good thing lol) Second how in love do you two look!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about it!
please tell me the app you are using for those coool photos on your iphone!!!!!!!xo
hipstimatic 🙂
Bobbi!!!! You look crazy beautiful with your hair down in that one pic of you and Mike. Gawwwgeous!
dang it ! i missed the weigh in – was out of town and forgot to weigh before i left! Wont miss the next!
OK..I know I’m SUPER late on this…like WAAAAAYYYYY late, but life’s busy right? you know! But it’s still no excuse…just my story!
Anyway, goal is to take the kids swimming (that’s good exercise, right?) at least 3x a week through the summer!
I am totally late on this because I have been out of town and have not had much access to the internet. I did not lose these two week but I know it was because I did not do so well with my eating. I finally bought a Camelback and I LOVE IT! My mini goal is to drink at least 2 full Camelback’s (not sure if this is the correct wording) of water a day. It is very exciting to read how everyone is doing! I am so proud of everyone even though I haven’t met any of you! Keep on truckin’! We can do this!!
Bobbi-I read in WomensHealth magazine that getting 8 hours of sleep per night increases your metabolism, and can actually help you lose weight! Just another reason to get good amounts of sleep! 🙂
I love reading your blog! There are so many other photogs out there where I’ll just scroll through the images because the paragraph or two that has been written isn’t very interesting. I absolutely adore your enthusiasm and joy that you take in describing each wedding! I use to think I had to be eloquent and write this crazy love story each time, but now I know I just have to be my excited self about all of my brides and grooms. Thank you Bobbi & Mike for being your exuberant selves through and through! It’s a great inspiration!
Just wanted to pop in and say how much I adore that picture of you and Mike. So peaceful and full of love. Not to mention how gorgeous you look in it. 🙂
Awesome photos. I just enjoyed them for over an hour.
I missed commenting on this last week because it seems they don’t believe in WiFi in Angel Fire, NM. At least not where we were staying at, and no Sprint either for my mifi. We enjoyed a LOT of time outdoors!
I bought a bike in Taos. My goal has been to ride 4-5 times a week. So far, so good. I actually woke up this morning craving the ride. Craving it! Me! Exercise! I’m only doing 15-20 minutes at a time for now, but I’m working my way up! Slow & steady.
Big goal? Ride the MS 150 next April. 180 miles, Houston to Austin, in 2 days. (Hoping the doctor clears my bad knees for it!)
