Danielle is a photographer based in Maine… so when she inquired with me I was ridiculously honored. I mean… I’m always honored but when an out-of-state photographer inquires, I’m especially honored! The sky was the limit and she chose me. 🙂 Yeahhhh… no pressure…

For their first look they read each other their vows. I had never seen this done and thought it was just the sweetest damn thing.

Danielle & Kyle’s wedding took place at the beach by their family cottage where she grew up.

When Ben, Megan and I scouted the beach the day before the wedding we had a hard time picturing a ceremony being beautiful. We named it as “Swing Set Beach.” 😀 I’ll tell you, that beach RALLIED for their ceremony! Danielle did such an incredible job of making this cute little beach come to life!

EVERY TENT WEDDING SHOULD BE IN A CLEAR TENT!!!!!! Neither of us had ever photographed a wedding under a clear tent… and let me tell you… after this wedding… WE ARE OBSESSSSSED!!!!

SEEEEE??!?!

Danielle surprised Kyle with a local favorite ice cream truck. HE WAS HYYYYYPE! He went running out of the tent as soon as it pulled up and then promptly stood at the front of the line and patiently waited with all of the kids (who were nearly as excited). Good wife move Danielle!

Behind the scenes

I almost died getting to that spot in the left photo. I couldn’t really see what I was stepping into but soon realized that it wasn’t solid! There was a huge pile of broken limbs and I fell through them to the ground below. “AHHHH!!!! I’M DYINNNNNG!!!!!” Danielle responded, “Oh! That’s where we throw all of the limbs from the yard!” HA! I’m so dramatic.

What they said

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Danielle:   The ceremony. As nervous as I was to share my personal vows, it was my favorite part of the day, and it felt incredibly special to have so many of our favorite people at my favorite place all there for us. Right before I walked down the aisle, Bobbi told me to take time to look out at everyone looking at us during the ceremony… loved that advice!

Kyle:   The ceremony and reading our vows together.

Any advice for future bride/grooms?

Danielle: No matter how many weddings you’ve been to or seen, you really can’t imagine how fast it goes by until you are the bride. Relax and take it all in!

Kyle: Take several moments throughout the day/night to just take it all in. And add a few extra minutes to your first look so you have a little extra time alone together.

Funniest memory from your wedding day?

Danielle: Kyle’s reaction to the surprise ice cream truck!

Kyle: Chris’ best man speech – especially when the dog interrupted!
