If you’ve been following this blog for any period of time… you already know about my best friend… I call her Grigh and she calls me Grigh. For those who are new here… click here to find out why (in a nutshell, it’s a form of the word “girl.” 🙂

Everyone else calls her Corrie. But you guys can call her Grigh if you’d like.

We’ve been best friends for eighteen years. EIGHTEEN YEARS! Unbelievable when you see it like that. WHOA! 18… whoa. We’ve been friends for so long that our entire communication is nothing but inside jokes. We’re not fun to hang out with when we’re together because everyone else feels left out. I’m not mad at them. 🙂

Anyway, she lives in Kansas City (where I’m from) and I… well I live in Indianapolis. For the first time since I moved here, she had the overwhelming urge to come visit me. So, she did… and it was the most incredible weekend in forever. The best part? She brought the BABAAAAAAH GRI!  (Most people call her Aubrey) I’m obsessed with this baby. OBSESSED!

Before they left, I snapped a few images of the Grigh’s around my house…

She’s RIDICULOUSLY sweet. Hardly cries. Sleeps through the night. And she’s the smilingest baby in the whole world. She’s the best baby to have ever been born. EVER. You may think I’m exaggerating, but I know because I’ve met every baby in the whole world, so there! 😉

And I haven’t even mentioned how beautiful she is. BADABOOM BADABING… SHE’S PERFECTO!

It’s the Babaaah Gri and Babyblue! 😉 (Babyblue was my childhood doll… I found a replica on eBay 😉 It still even has the tag attached, “Fisher Price, ©1980”)

Aubrey was born with SO much hair… hair that was dark just like Corrie’s.  Now it’s falling out and the hair behind it is blonde. Isn’t that wild?! See, she’s a miracle baby!

Those blue eyes?! Melt! OHHH how I miss her!

Favorite quote  ::  “Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.”

What made you want to come to Indianapolis?  ::  I had this overwhelming feeling to do something bold… and if you know me I don’t ever take any kind of risk… AT ALL! I live my life very safe and soundly in Kansas City.  I’ve always wanted to visit my grigh and I would talk about going but never followed through.  So I thought what better than to go and visit her.  YES!!  This would be my minor, yet bold, “do something risky your life” baby-step with the added bonus of getting some quality grigh time as it was looooong overdue.

How would you describe me to my blog readers?  ::   Crazy, fun, entertaining, makes me laugh like no one else, allows me to let down my guard, gives me confidence to be silly/wacky when I normally would not be, has taught me how to be assertive.  I didn’t say it when I was there but I am so proud of you and I am soooo glad you are in my life. Like we’ve said before, I love that our friendship has no expectations, we can pick up the phone after not talking for months and be right on with our conversation as if we lived next door.

Corrie has always LOVED my stories… she’d often say, “tell me the story again about _____!” So, I thought I’d ask… What’s your favorite “Bobbi story”?  ::  Oh geez…there are waaaay to many to even start.  I would have to say when Jake Wood threw the Subway wrapper at your head.  You don’t take crap from anyone… love that about you.  I could seriously go on and on and on with all my favorite Grigh stories!

Aubrey Jo hadn’t said any official words yet. So, I decided to teach her to say my name. In baby talk, that’s “Ba Ba Ba Ba.” I was doing it all weekend. I was borderline annoying (shocking I know) and by borderline annoying I really mean… very annoying (as you’re about to find out). As we were eating lunch at the airport before they left, Corrie and I were talking when I notice that she’s doing it… she’s actually saying “Ba Ba Ba Ba” ALLLL by herself!  So, I quickly grabbed my phone and turn on the video.

Here it is, Aubrey’s first word, for the first time… (how did parents parent before smart phones?!) 😉

Just a few days ago Corrie’s Mom Karen posted this on my Facebook, “Just to let you know, Aubrey Jo is sitting here with me outside saying ‘Ba Ba Ba Ba.’ You taught her well!”

😀

Corrie added this to the bottom of the blog questionnaire I sent… “When I returned home from Indiana, people (co-workers, friends, family) would ask if we did anything fun, to which I replied “OH YEAH!! but nothing you would find fun!” We didn’t do what most people do when they visit new cities, you know… sight-seeing.  We have way too much fun just hanging out.  We don’t need any other forms of entertainment like movies, parks, shopping. We keep it  low-key but at the same time it is the most exciting and hilarious time I’ve ever had.  Always is.”

To my two favorite Grigh’s… thanks, from the bottom of my heart, for everything. That weekend was exactly what I needed. 😀 I miss you both more than I have the words to explain.

Lus you Grighs…
