amanda: Jared was approaching me during a traditional jewish pre-ceremony, called a Bedekken. I was crying (tears of joy!) because I was overwhelmed with emotion, and he whispered into my ear: “I only ever want to make you smile.”
jared: When the men danced me in to veil the bride in the traditional Jewish pre-ceremony. That was really special and I couldn’t stop smiling.
Funniest memory from your wedding day?amanda: This goes for the planning and the day-of: surround yourself with people you trust to take on ALL of the stressful details so that you’re just enjoying yourself.
jared: Just try and stay relaxed. A handkerchief helps if you sweat (or a change of shirt if you sweat like me). And don’t wear your new shoes for the first time at the wedding. Gotta break those in.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?amanda: It was private, but funny. I brought a backup dress to dance in, but in all the haste, I had forgot to bring a bra to the reception venue. My cousin, Nicole was heading back to the hotel to put her kids to bed, and I asked her to go get my bra – but she didn’t have the key. So she had to convince the hotel staff to let her in to my room to get her cousin’s bra. Luckily, she’s a very persuasive gal
jared: Either the bride’s cousin biting it hard on the dance floor or my cousin literally giving me the shirt off his back because I had sweat through mine.
What were your songs?amanda: I really loved the way it turned out – such a satisfying feeling to see a vision come together! I wouldn’t change a thing!
jared: I honestly wouldn’t change a thing…except actually try and eat the appetizers. Didn’t have a chance to try those. Heard they were good.
