We had this idea of them getting out onto the water buuuuut…. I was quiiiiite apprehensive! Pre-ceremony, I’m a bit of a safety ranger with the dress… post ceremony I feel a little more liberal with it… and obviously this was before. However, they were COMPLETELY on board, I think I was more nervous about this than they were! “Anything for a great photo!” Julia said.

That image on the left… it’s my favorite! ❗ To me, it perfectly encapsulates their wedding day. I won’t lie… it’s a little soft… but I don’t mind it. Life happens and capturing it, even when the conditions aren’t perfect, is better than missing it. Bottom line: Imperfect moments > Perfectly captured images. 😉

[br]What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Julia: At the end of the night, all of our guests spontaneously formed a circle around us to the tune of “Closing Time” — we felt surrounded by love and support from our friends and family.
Luke: Hearing Julia’s incredibly personal and heartfelt vows for the first time during the ceremony as I tried not to tear up.
[br] Any advice for future bride/grooms?
Julia: Ask friends to bring you drinks (and especially water) throughout the night — there’s no chance you’re making it more than 1 foot in any direction without talking to other people!
Luke: Relax and enjoy not having to deal with all the bridal preparations.
[br]Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Julia: When my mom said during her toast, “When I sent Julia to Luke… I mean… Duke!”
Luke: My aunt getting low with her guide dog on the dance floor!
[br]If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
It was as perfect of a day as we could ask for, but we missed out on tasting the top tier of our wedding cake! If we could do it all over, we’d make a bee-line to the cake table. 🙂
