…a prayer before the ceremony… in the ladies room. 🙂Meanwhile, Troy and his brothers were doing this.
Jody and her father: twins!I love buttons on the back of a dress… such a nice touch.I love me a great dad. My favorite. ❗
After the ceremony, Troy (who is a news reporter) was talking about how difficult it was to write his vows… though he didn’t refer to them as vows. He said something along the lines of, “I can write an hour worth of copy in fifteen minutes, but the five minutes that I read up there… that copy took me an hour!” It made me laugh.
BOOM!As they walked back down the aisle and into the church foyer, they were alone for fifteen seconds before the rest of their wedding party began to join them. This was what happened for those fifteen seconds. I found out later after reading the interview listed at the end of this blog entry that these fifteen seconds were Troy’s most memorable moment of his day. I’m so glad I was there to capture it. Mike’s favorite. ❓Then it was portrait time!Loved this wedding party.A scene like this is exactly what you would expect to see when two news people get married. 😉…and that’s Troy’s Emmy. And the maid of honor’s toast, I couldn’t quit laughing! HAHAHA! You definitely had to be there. 😉
That dress was perfect for Jodie. Then it was party time!I love this image.Such a fun party!

[br]What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Jodie: I’ll never forget walking down the aisle and seeing Troy standing there waiting for me. I also really loved our vows and I’m so happy we decided to write our own.
Troy: I will always remember the 15 seconds we had alone with each other right after we walked down the aisle for the first time as husband and wife. It was the most at peace and full of joy I’ve ever been at one moment in my life.
[br]Any advice for future bride/grooms?
Jodie: #1: Hire Bobbi and Mike #2 Don’t sweat the small stuff, seriously. #3 Following the kiss, after you’re first introduced as husband and wife, take a few seconds to look at the crowd and truly enjoy that moment when all of your family and friends are smiling back at you. It’s tempting to just take off down the aisle, but don’t do it. It’s your day, take your time.
Troy: What Jodie said. Also, spring for the comfortable tux shoes. Worth it.
[br]Funniest memory from your wedding day?
Jodie: I absolutely loved my dress. It fit perfectly! However, because it was a mermaid style and tight, I had to take it off to use the bathroom. I’ll never forget standing in the church bathroom topless, with nothing but my shoes, underwear and veil on 🙂
Troy: As we prepared to read our vows to each other, the pastor asked us who would like to go first. With no hesitation, Jodie pointed at me and said: “Ladies first.” It helped to keep my emotions in check…for the next 15 seconds. Oh–I’ll also never forget standing in the church topless. No veil for me, though. Au natural.
[br]If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
jodie: It was the most perfect day. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
troy: No way. Best day ever.
[br] Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Hi! Just a question – I’m confused by the ceremony pics of this wedding – in some there seems to be zero guests on the ‘bride’s’ side, but on others, that side was filled up. Were some pics taken in a walkthrough before the ceremony?
Yep, what Alicia said… there wasn’t a center aisle, two aisles with three sections of pews. 😀
Beautiful wedding! I love the way you capture a wedding day and tell their story.
Brittany, I’m guessing there was probably not a center aisle but three sections of pews with two aisles and they left the far left section empty(?). That’s just a random guess since I don’t have any insight to this wedding.I just felt the need to throw my two cents in:)
Ahh, I get it now, it all makes sense. 🙂 Thanks ladies! 😉
Hi Bobbie, I love this wedding and all of yours you shoot. I even got a spider holster after seeing you get one and thought to myself that makes sense! Hurray for no more backaches!
I’d love to know how you directed the black and white group shot in the middle of the post. I really like the fact they are all collapsed together in laughter. Did you give any direction and who cracked the joke?!
Thanks from a new UK wedding tog.
I loved playing “spot the photographer” in this set! 😉
These are money, the prayer shot at the beginning in particular.
Love her dress and the b-maid’s dresses, awesome! Looks like a really fun reception!
Bam, you killed it with the group shots! Awesome!
Fantastic shot of the groom during the garter guys. Love it. 🙂
