The evening before their wedding, Lori and Eugene held a traditional Korean Paebaek ceremony. For those who don’t know what that is, here’s an excerpt from Weddingbee’s Wikipedia page,

“In Korean tradition, the marriage between a man and a woman represents the joining of two families, rather than the joining of two individuals. The engaged couple will enter together dressed in ceremonial Korean wedding attire called hanbok. Their parents, the honorees, will be seated in front of a table laden with various edibles and tea (or soju – rice wine). The couple will bow deeply to the honorees, then kneel as one pours tea/soju. Once each honoree drinks the tea/soju, they impart wisdom, advice or a wish for the couple’s future.”

Finally, the honorees will throw dates (symbolizing girls) and chestnuts (symbolizing boys) which the bride and groom will try to catch in the bride’s skirt. According to legend, the number of dates and chestnuts caught signifies how many children she will bear.”

In their case, they will be having 11 kids. Six boys and five girls. It seems Lori and Eugene’s parents have good aim! …the next morning 🙂 I loved these bridesmaids. It helps, of course, that I photographed two of their weddings 😀 BOOOOOM!…meanwhile…Have I mentioned lately that I love men in tuxes?! It’s a wedding photographer’s perk. 😉This is usually my very favorite part. FINALLY! Husband and wife! 😀Lori + Eugene + their TWENTY member wedding party! Favorite ❗…all eleven of your future children are guaranteed to have perfect smiles. IU!
…the first dance comes in a VERY close second as my favorite part of the day. 😀Hanover’s Phi Mu Sorority. “Bye bye miss american pie….”Though Clayton was skeptical… Eugene knew EVERY word to this song. $10 iTunes gift card if you can name the tune. If you were there, you’re exempt, duh. 😀 (By the way, the answer isn’t “American Pie”). ::UPDATE:: Stacy M. got it right. “Friends in Low Places” –Garth Brooks. 😀By the way… remember my mentioning of Clayton Anderson in Rachael and Patrick’s blog entry? Well, he’s Lori’s brother and rocked this wedding, too 😀 The difference? This time he did it wearing a pink vest 😉

Here are Eugene and Lori’s families singing the last song. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. 😀 Mike’s view. And mine 😀

What was the most memorable moment of your day?
lori: The cake cutting. That song encompasses the two of us and how we feel about each other.
eugene: The first dance… It was the first time we just had time to ourselves.

What was your favorite detail?
lori: My aisle runner and my card box and my groom.
eugene: Having a childhood dream come true and having THE greatest minister Reginald K. Lisemby marry us.

Any advice for future bride/grooms?
lori: Stay focused on what’s important… Your marriage… Don’t sweat the details.
eugene: Be cool…. It always works out… And at the end of the day you get prettiest bride.,.. Well second prettiest… I got the prettiest 🙂

Funniest memory from your wedding day?
lori: When I tried to kiss Eugene in the middle of the ceremony.
eugene: Ditto… I kept telling myself I couldn’t kiss her too early and she came in for one and it was hilarious.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
lori: Nothing but the weather.
eugene: Ditto… Warm day, but can I tell you how awesome our photographers were in keeping us cool. By the way… They are Bobbi and Mike!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Oh, did you not see that? Let me zoom in… 😀 Mike busted it MAJORLY on the band’s speakers while walking backwards. Clayton, without skipping a beat, helped him up. Later that night Mike told me about how badly his butt was bruised after falling. Uhm.. what?! I went back and reviewed the photos and there it was… I captured it and didn’t even know it! 😀
