Our clients often ask us if we photograph rehearsal dinners. Our answer: while we know it’s a big event in your life… it’s not the best thing to take photos of. Mostly what happens is sitting and eating… and NO ONE wants photos of themselves eating.
However, when Meredith and Jake were talking about their rehearsal dinner plans… we INSISTED that we photograph it! Maybe you remember… Jake is kind of a big deal chef. 😀 For his rehearsal dinner, Jake wanted to cook “the meal of his life.” 😀 …it’s a chef thing.
Well, they ended up having the rehearsal dinner on a Thursday and I had previous commitments. I was TOTALLY bummed that I couldn’t make it. 🙁 Mike, on the other hand, didn’t. So, off to Bloomington he went to photograph and eat, what he considered, the most amazing meal he’s ever eaten.
…the last course… dessert!
He finally got to sit down and enjoy some of his amazingness.
…two days later, BADABOOM BADABING… MARRYING MEREDITH!!!!! Okay, that was cheesy… but I’ve been dying to say it! 😀
If ONLY you knew what was so funny 😉 ! However, if you know Julia (on the far right), you know EXACTLY what we were laughing at. So, if you know… please keep it to yourself 😉
This just miiiiiiight be one of my favorite bridal shots I’ve ever taken. Meredith, you were a STUNNING bride. st-st-STUNNING!
Her relationship with her parents is something that every parent should hope/work for with their children. I’ve never seen anything like it. Such an amazing family.
Jake said his vows in French while every girl in the room melted into one zillion pieces. Mike, learn French… now. Thank you. SO FREAKING SEXY!
Candy… one of my favorite MOB’s ever. I’ve met a lot… so, high fives to you Momma C!
MARRRRRRIED TO MERRRRRREDITH!!!!!!!! Alright alright… I’ll shush!
Mike’s favorite ❓
The photo on the left… that’s my favorite. ❗
I ADORE YOU TWO! Please, let’s be friends in real life? Please???
Meredith’s mom Candy and stepmom Marsha watching the father/daughter dance. Yeah, told you it was an amazing family.
Last dance of the night. Meredith and Jake, you’re welcome 😉
waiting to hear back on these
… so I’m filling in what I know/remember

What was the most memorable moment of your day?
meredith: My most memorable moment was the audiences collective sigh when Jake recieted his vows in French. The collective sigh was only matched by the one in my heart. Yeah I said it!
jake: Our last dance was my favorite part. At the end of everything it was like a celebration of what was to come with my beautiful bride.
What was your favorite detail?
meredith: My favorite detail was the actual vows when my aunt was filmed from Afghanistan to legally marry us because she could not be present. It was a surprise and I think it made the day really personal.
jake: I loved the focus Meredith and I shared on each other. That at the end of all of it, it was just me and her.
Any advice for future bride/grooms?
meredith: HIRE BOBBI AND MIKE! I don’t care what you have to do! Nobody remembers your ornate flower arrangements or your truffled jordan almonds but I promise you they will remember how they feel when they see their memories truly captured in an image forever. That is my only advice … ever. I adore you Meredith, thank you.
jake: Stop and smell your own flowers it goes by so fast. Try to remember all of the little things and never try to cater your own wedding unless you have a culinary death wish
Funniest memory from your wedding day?
meredith: All I would say is if those Bridal Suites could talk they would ask Julia and Bobbi to leave but I would tell those walls to shut their proverbial mouths. HAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!
jake: That it took seven people to contain me in a room to not take a peek of Meredith. It literally took seven people holding on to my coat tails not to look when they were outside taking pictures.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
meredith: I wish I could have spent more time with my bridesmaids and other guests I didn’t get to see much of.
jake: No because at the end of the day I got to take her home. The worst thing in the world could have happened and I still wouldn’t change anything.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Jamaica mon! We climbed everything that wasn’t tied down and touched everything under the ocean and ate everything under the sun. Go all inclusive for your honeymoon!
I’m sorry that you’re so tall and I’m so short that I have to snuggle with your bosoms when we get a photo taken together. Oh well, life could be MUCH worse! 😀
Meredith and Jake, you two are one in a zillion. I adore you, your hilarious friends, and your amazing families. BOOOOYAH!
LOVE TO YOUS!!!!!

PS. so… when do we get to hang out next?
I don’t remember what was happening here… but doesn’t it look intense?!
:::::EDITED TO ADD:::::
How could I have forgotten these two?! These are moments rarely captured! Mike stepped into “girls getting ready room” for just a few minutes to make sure things were running on time and found me doing this 🙂 Though my primary job is always to be the photographer… sometimes, after I capture the moment, I put my camera down for just a minute and help the bride get ready. Here, I’m tying an OH SO perfect bow on the back of Meredith’s dress. 🙂 I look like a mutant mini photographer that’s getting a spanking!
Here we’re discussing perfect veil placement. Why I’m fluffing my hair is beyond me! :::::EDIT OVER:::::
It’s no wonder I’m getting premature wrinkles… look at what I’m doing to my face behind that camera! At least I’m happy!

Wow, fantastic set guys! We love you guys and you are both such an inspiration to us. Mike and I look at your site all the time and though we aren’t trying to copy you, we are starting to see the impact you guys have on us with the most recent blog posting. 🙂
Anyway, if you guys are ever in Central Florida, we should all totally go have dinner!
🙂 (Since I was a French major, and I love the fact that Jake said his vows in French, you inspired me!)
I love your outfit in that last shot. PLease share the details. Beautiful wedding!
Bobbi and Mike, you are MAGIC! PURE MAGIC! OMG, best in town FOREVER!
these are gorgeous!! i love, love, love that bridal shot! LOVE! 🙂
My favorite couple of yours of the year. And that’s really saying something.
PS – Everything in French is hotter. Plain and simple 🙂
Sumptuous photos as always. Does Jake work at Scholar’s Inn or was he just using the kitchen? I want to eat what he cooks.
Brad, hi! 😀 He’s the executive chef at the Scholar’s Inn in Bloomington. FANCY SCHMANCY!
Mike’s first shot, your bridal portrait could make this post alone!! What awesome pictures and what a great couple who gets what life is all about…food and loved ones!
WOWZA!! Love love love. The one above Mikey’s fav…is my fav…!
So amazing guys. Such stunning portraits of Meredith! What a lucky girl – and a beautiful couple!
Especially awesome to be a Bloomington resident and watch you capture the place in a fresh way. Can’t wait to show these to Steve and book a date night at Scholar’s!
AYKM??!! Mike ROCKED that rehearsal dinner shoot AND got to eat amazing food – I’m SO in!! And the shot of Meredith in the mirror–one eye–GAH! OK, I loved this wedding. Loved. It. Thanks for sharing and amazing job, once again. Hugs!!
loved this…. loved her hair brooch…. and i loved what you said “lets be friends in real life” thats how i felt when i first met you. 🙂
No fair– a gorgeous bride and groom AND her gorgeous parents. These were beautiful!!!
Fan-freakin-tastic job!! And I just have to say that I hope (as the step-mother of your 9 year old twin) that when you photograph her wedding that her mom and I have a picture like Meredith’s mom + stepmom! ;D
cozy and intimate wedding! great shots!
B-E-A-U-TIFUL !!!!! I mean, is there any other way to describe it?!
The pictures are beautiful…and you need smaller pants!!!!
Bobbi, you have been officially adopted by me. The pictures of all the bridesmaids laughing…truly captured the event!! The one of Marsha (the bestest second mom in the world!!) the one of meredith looking in the mirror. How do you capture it all? You were by far the best part of the wedding process. Oh, and don’t even think that we won’t stay in touch. You and Mike are the most talented people I know. (ok, Jake and his family are pretty much up there too. the flowers, the food, the woodworking, the arranging. BTW, you look fabulous in the pics your own self.
I’ve been a blog stalked for umm, FOREVER however this is my first ever comment. These wedding photos are down right amazing! Every image tells a story, absolutely stunning work!
P.S. The “behind the scenes” shots of you both in action are always a highlight of each entry….love it!
The tight shot with her hand on his face – wow to that!
OMFG! they’re so adorable… so are you Bobbi!
Love it!!! I think your fave is my fave too…
What a cool couple! GREAT set, as usual, guys!
Like the new out take shots!
i would CHERISH a photo like that of my mother and stepmother together. almost made me cry. love it.
great set of images…and voila, excellent rehearsal photos mike!
rockin’ the shoot sac! love it:)
Bobbi, I NEED to know where you got your dress pants! I can’t find any for the LIFE of me that have a flippin belt loop, much less a “real” pocket. I’m short stuff too, and those fit you great! Pleeeeease share!
Angel… I had the belt loops added by my seamstress 😀 It’s a requirement of mine being that I’m in the process of losing weight! And… the suit is from The Limited 😀 Unfortunately, they don’t make it anymore 🙁
i love that you share the behind the scene pics!
so freaking amazing i don’t even know what to comment! AMAAAAZZZIIINNNGGGG!!! ps, bobbi you look fantastic.
They are awsome! I think that you two are one of the best photographers in US!
Wow, you can tell by the way these two look together and their body language that their love is SO DEEP. Their chemistry just jumps out of the photos. Truly touching.
I’ve admired your wedding pictures so much for the past few years, but this one really popped at me and made me “Awwww”. I loved them! Y’all are the best (well, we already know that!)
These are so soooo amazing! I just adore all of them, and got major goose bumps. The shot of the moms watching the father daughter dance made me think about my son getting married one day, and I started crying. My son is 5 months old. 😉
Incredible photos, as usual, guys! While all of your shoots are awesome, I really think this is one of the most complete, from a “feeling” standpoint, that you guys have done (if that makes any sense!).
A beautiful set, fo sho… 🙂
-Brian
Completely, utterly, SWOONING over this wedding…ahhhh.
