When photographing photographers… we mainly focus on the whole family… you know they have a ton of photos of their kids… just not a ton WITH them IN them. 🙂 But, here are a few that we DID get 🙂

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. OHHHHHH PETERSON FAMILY!!!!!!! OHHHHHH HOW YOU ROCKED OUR WORLD!!!!!!!!!
Mindy contacted us a LONNNNNNG time ago to get the family session rolling. I tell you… I got more and more and more nervous as the day got closer! You see, Mindy and Ben are AMAZINGLY talented photographers in Grand Rapids, Michigan… 🙂 I know you guys are probably sick of me saying how nervous I get when shooting photographers, but I can't lie… I DO! I mean.. COME ON… it's a HUGE honor to be asked by your peers to photo their family. ESPECIALLY ones that drive six hours for their session… with THREE kids in tow! Yeah, nervous might be an understatement.
SOOOO…. the morning we woke up for their session, it was POURING rain… I MEAN POURRRRRING!!!!! They drove in the night before, so they were already in town…. I was having an anxiety attack. "OH MY GOSH… THEY DROVE SO FAR… AND IT'S A SOAKER!!!!!!" How my husband deals with my dramatics is beyond me… but anyway… I was nearly in tears. By looking at the radar, it didn't look like there was an end to the rain in sight. Mike called Ben… we started coming up with reschedule plans. Meanwhile, I'm getting an email from the queen of optimism saying (while it's POURING rain and the forecast has 90% chance of heavy showers for the rest of the day), "I'm still optimistic that the rain will pass and we will have the PERFECT overcast weather with puddles to splash in with fun umbrellas… but that is the world I love in… it's so happy in Mindy land 🙂 " QUOTE, UNQUOTE! I thought… there's noooo way this rain is going to stop… NOOOO WAYYYY!!!!!
LO AND BEHOLD…. THE DARN RAIN STOPPPPPPED!!!!!!!!!! Yes yes yes yes YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!! MINDY WAS RIIIIIIIGHT!!!! So, we went on as planned 🙂
However, there was a bit of mud…. okay, a LOT of mud…. but, whatever… they drove a long distance for these photos, so we just embraced it. 😉
Those kids… THOSE KIDS!!!!!! I find it so interesting how many different personalites siblings have… as I'm an only child. Keegan, he's a people pleaser. He wanted to be perfect for these photos, and he was. 🙂 Someday… his girlfriends parents will love him, guaranteed. Carter, he's wild! He loves to make everyone laugh… and is such a sweeeeeeet sweet affectionate young man 🙂 Laney, ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THAT CUTENESS LANEY?! She's ALL girl! Very dainty yet very adventerous. 🙂 I suppose that's what comes with having two big brothers 🙂
And last but not least… Ben and Mindy, you guys are rockstars. 🙂 You're phenomenal parents, brilliant photographers and just down right stellar people. Thank you for asking us to photo you, you guys sure do know how to make two people feel amazing 🙂
